HyperOS 4 POCO X8 Pro Hands-On: Faster, Cooler & Battery-Friendlier Than HyperOS 3?

The POCO X8 Pro launched in March 2026 with HyperOS 3 out of the box, a solid, smooth experience, but one that left early adopters waiting for Xiaomi's next big OS release. HyperOS 4 officially began rolling out to flagship devices in August 2026, bringing a redesigned Liquid Glass interface, a Zero-Legacy architecture built on Android 17, and the new Super AI Assistant 2.0. The catch? POCO devices weren't on the first or even second official beta wave. So I did what many enthusiasts do: I flashed a community-ported HyperOS 4 build (version 4.0.0.10, China region, ported from the Xiaomi 17T) onto my POCO X8 Pro and used it as my daily driver. This is my honest, hands-on account of what works, what doesn't, and whether you should do the same. Important transparency note: This is an unofficial port, not an official Xiaomi release.
