Among the common problems after performing a hard reset or reflash on a smartphone is getting locked by a Google Account (google account verification) and, for Xiaomi devices, the additional Mi Account lock. In this guide, I will share my experience on how to Unlock both Mi Account and Google Account (google account verification) on the Xiaomi Redmi 6A, which uses a MediaTek processor.

Unlike most Xiaomi phones that use Qualcomm processors, where Unlocking is relatively easy using tools like RBSoft with eMMC Firehose files to wipe all user data, the case is different for the Redmi 6A with its MediaTek chipset. The process is considerably more complex.

After trying several methods found through Google searches (most of which required paid tools via credit transfer), I finally found the correct and tested working method for this issue.

Important Pre-requisites & Safety Notes

Before proceeding, please read these critical points carefully:

• Legal & Ethical Use: This guide is intended for legitimate owners who have forgotten their account credentials or purchased a second-hand device that is locked. Unauthorized access to devices that do not belong to you is illegal and unethical.
• Technical Risks: Improper execution may cause software issues. Proceed at your own risk.
• Known Side Effects of This Method: You may occasionally see "Force Close" notifications related to location detection services. This does not affect overall system performance, and the phone will run normally.
•  The "Factory Reset" option in Settings will become inaccessible or non-functional.
• Important: If you reflash the firmware in the future, the Mi Account lock will automatically reactivate.
• Critical Precaution: During the setup process, ensure the phone is NOT connected to the internet (remove the SIM card, disable nearby Wi-Fi/hotspots) until the final ADB step is completed. If the phone connects to the internet prematurely, the Mi Account lock will reactivate automatically.

What You Need to Prepare

To Unlock Mi Account and Google google account verification on Redmi 6A, you will need the following tools:

1. PdaNet: For installing proper USB drivers and enabling ADB detection.
2. Xiaomi One Tool V.1 Cactus: The main tool for Unlocking Mi Account and google account verification in Fastboot mode.
3. Xiaomi ADB Tool: For the final Mi Account disable process via ADB.

How to Unlock Mi Account & Google google account verification on Xiaomi Redmi 6A (MediaTek Processor Guide)

Step 1: Unlock Mi Account via Fastboot Mode

Enter Fastboot Mode:

1. Power off your Xiaomi Redmi 6A completely.
2. Press and hold the Power button and Volume DOWN button simultaneously.
3.  When the MI logo appears, release the Power button but continue holding the Volume DOWN button.
4.  Connect the phone to your PC or Laptop via USB cable while still holding Volume DOWN. You are now in Fastboot mode.

Run Xiaomi One Tool:

1. Open Xiaomi One Tool V.1 Cactus that you downloaded earlier.
2. For Mi Account Unlock: Select menu number 1 ("RESET MI ACCOUNT") by pressing the "1" key on your keyboard, then press Enter.
3. Wait for the Unlock process to run automatically.
4.  Once complete, the phone will restart automatically and begin the initial setup process. The Xiaomi One Tool will also close automatically.

Step 2: Unlock Google Account (google account verification) via Fastboot Mode

Re-enter Fastboot Mode:

1. Power off the phone again by pressing and holding the Power button + Volume DOWN button simultaneously to enter Fastboot mode once more.
2. Reopen Xiaomi One Tool Cactus.

Unlock google account verification:

1. For Google Account (google account verification) Unlock: Press the "2" key on your keyboard, then press Enter.
2. Wait for the google account verification Unlock process to complete. The phone will briefly restart back into Fastboot/Bootloader mode during the process.
3. Once finished, the Redmi 6A will restart automatically and enter the initial setup menu again. The Xiaomi tool will close automatically.

Step 3: Critical Precaution During Initial Setup

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT:

1. When the phone reboots and shows the MIUI 10 welcome screen, remove the SIM card if one is installed.
2. Make sure there are no active Wi-Fi hotspots nearby that the phone might automatically connect to.
3. If the phone connects to the internet or cellular network at this stage, the Mi Account lock will automatically reactivate, and you will have to start over.
4. Proceed through the initial setup steps without connecting to any network until you reach the home screen.

Step 4: Final Mi Account Disable via ADB

Enable USB Debugging:

1. Once on the home screen, go to Settings → About Phone.
2. Tap on "Build Number" 7 times to enable Developer Mode.
3. Go back to Settings → Additional Settings → Developer Options.
4. Enable "USB Debugging".

Install PdaNet Drivers:

1. Install PdaNet on your computer. This tool will automatically install the necessary drivers so that your phone's USB Debugging mode can be properly detected by Windows.
2. During installation, a notification will appear on your phone asking, "Allow USB debugging?" Tap "OK" to confirm.

Run Xiaomi ADB Tool:

1. Open Xiaomi ADB Tool.
2. Click the "Check Device" button to confirm your phone is detected.
3. Click the "Do Job" menu button. A notification will appear saying: "Now Use Unlock Mi Account Function".
4. Check the "Mi Account Unlock (ADB)" option.
5. Click the "Do Job" button again to execute the final Unlock process.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You have now successfully and completely Unlocked the Mi Account on your Xiaomi Redmi 6A. Both the Mi Account system and device location detection have been disabled. The Mi Account is now permanently disabled and will not reactivate even if the phone connects to the internet.

As mentioned earlier, you may occasionally see "Force Close" notifications for location services, but this does not affect normal system operation. Also note that the factory reset option in Settings will no longer work, and reflashing the firmware will reactivate the Mi Account lock.
